Hypothetical situation. Call it an intellectual exercise.

Inmates versus Wardens. No holds barred - everybody's got all their powers, their mad science, helpful voices in their heads, whatever.  Admiral's asleep or out to lunch or just doesn't care, which I'd argue is his default position anyways but my personal biases don't need to be involved here.

Who'd win?

Oh, and if you're going to get your panties in a bunch over me fostering hostility or whatever it is I'm doing, then a) imagine it's just a softball game or something and b) know that you are a total wuss.

[Private to Bruce]

Hey.

[Private to Prefect]

Another lesson tonight?

[Private to Tim]

Hey. I have a question.

[identity profile] farsees.livejournal.com 2010-07-19 03:05 am (UTC)(link)
Why bother choosing a side when I'm hoping everyone would kill one another off?

[identity profile] gotgreenmagic.livejournal.com 2010-07-19 03:07 am (UTC)(link)
That is some admirably bitter nihilism from a newcomer. I applaud you.

[identity profile] farsees.livejournal.com 2010-07-19 03:11 am (UTC)(link)
I'd say thanks, but I'm more interested in finding out why you're interested in this hypothetical situation in the first place.

[identity profile] gotgreenmagic.livejournal.com 2010-07-19 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not, really. I have nowhere near the energy or interest to try starting anything for real. I'm just bored and it's something to do that isn't whining about this dump.

[identity profile] farsees.livejournal.com 2010-07-19 03:18 am (UTC)(link)
You could always see how many times you can beat your head into a wall before you pass out. Not that I want you to do that, I'm actually interested in hearing what other people answer your question with.

[identity profile] gotgreenmagic.livejournal.com 2010-07-19 03:21 am (UTC)(link)
I've been here almost a year. The idea's occurred to me.

[identity profile] farsees.livejournal.com 2010-07-19 03:22 am (UTC)(link)
So have you been here that long by choice, or are you one of the lucky people who are forced to stay here and reform?

[identity profile] terminates.livejournal.com 2010-07-19 03:33 am (UTC)(link)
Depending on the circumstances, it could go either way.

Private - AGREED!

[identity profile] the-ironman.livejournal.com 2010-07-19 03:37 am (UTC)(link)
[GLEEEEE.] Heh -- I hadn't considered the celibacy side of it, and suddenly... it all makes sense! Watching him with women is one of the single most painfully awkward experiences I've ever had to endure.

I'm going to give him a month, maybe two on the merit of his stubbornness, but if you break him, don't make him unfixable. I need him for shady organizations back home.

Oh. That's good then. Well, er. If that should change, obviously let me know and I can. Find something, I don't know. But thank you for answering my questions. It was very helpful.
cantblameagirl: (I'M IN.)

[personal profile] cantblameagirl 2010-07-19 03:54 am (UTC)(link)
Well, the wardens, clearly. Assuming the Admiral plays on our team.

Or judges.

He should judge.

Oh really?

Not all of your colleagues are as injudicious as you, darling.

I might have to say the wardens, just because like, half the inmates either wouldn't care enough to fight or wouldn't care who they're fighting. Plus the wardens have weapons and they have to look good in front of each other, so they're less likely to sit out. Besides, there's more than one warden with no moral qualms so far as I can tell.

[identity profile] knowmypurpose.livejournal.com 2010-07-19 08:13 am (UTC)(link)
I think it'd depend on the inmate and the warden.

[THIS WHOLE DISCUSSION REMINDS HIM OF HAVING HIS ASS KICKED SO HAVE AN ANGRY THREADJACK.]

While you're likely a disgrace to the name of anything born of whatever Light exists where you come from, I can assure you - you have rules that you quietly maintain just to function in society, some without being aware of them. I am not the only one who has none of those. We are dangerously insane, you are inconsiderate at best.

[identity profile] gotgreenmagic.livejournal.com 2010-07-19 11:03 am (UTC)(link)
Column B. I assume from the phrasing that you're a Warden?

[identity profile] gotgreenmagic.livejournal.com 2010-07-19 11:05 am (UTC)(link)
Read the rules, klepto. The Admiral is not involved. He's out on a date with some other omnipotent sadist or something.

[identity profile] gotgreenmagic.livejournal.com 2010-07-19 11:09 am (UTC)(link)
...Consider the hypothetical stakes to be high enough that everyone has to fight. Like, I don't know, the losing team gets lined up against a wall and shot. Oh, and all deaths sustained are permanent, not the Barge 'take a week off work' version.

[identity profile] gotgreenmagic.livejournal.com 2010-07-19 11:10 am (UTC)(link)
No no no no no, we're talking team sports here. All the Inmates versus all the Wardens.

[identity profile] pleasesmirk.livejournal.com 2010-07-19 01:06 pm (UTC)(link)
The wardens. Simply because they are slightly more capable of operating as a team than we are.

I think too many of us would be going for all the glory or taking charge and we'd be too busy infighting.

[identity profile] gotgreenmagic.livejournal.com 2010-07-19 01:49 pm (UTC)(link)
I guess. On a good day and in a universe that doesn't tip the balance freakishly in favor of the designated 'good guys', I'd give the edge to the Inmates.

[identity profile] gotgreenmagic.livejournal.com 2010-07-19 01:50 pm (UTC)(link)
See, I think they'd have exactly the same problem. And they'd have it a little bit worse. Have you not noticed the amount of time it takes for them to decide anything?

[identity profile] pleasesmirk.livejournal.com 2010-07-19 01:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Saying they're better than us isn't exactly a glowing assessement.

Do you not remember what happened last time we tried to decide anything? A little infighting is a distinct improvement on beating each other up. Half the inmates here are just itching for a fight and don't give a damn who it's with. At least the wardens might have a sense of direction.

[identity profile] gotgreenmagic.livejournal.com 2010-07-19 01:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Are you talking about that meeting? Findthee, if you took that even a little bit seriously then I'm sorry but I think you were the only one.
