Hey. Tim says you want to meet me, and I've decided I'd rather we name a time and place than have this hanging over my head for the next however long.

....unless you've got the slowly spreading 'crazy Warden' disease, in which case it can wait until you've had your shots.

I'm not. [ He walks past her to the tree that she's leaning against, grabbing hold of a low-hanging branch and swinging upwards until he's sitting on it, looking down at her. The height advantage is very, very deliberate. ]

Tell me about yourself.

[Jackass. She's tempted to say 'come down and I will' but no, if he's going to be a contrary douchebag there's not much she can do to stop him. Besides blast the branch off the tree. Which she could probably manage, just about. But no, that's probably not the smart way for this to go.]

I'm twenty-six. I've been here about a year and a half. I'm from Go City, which nobody has ever heard of but me. I used to be a superhero, got tired of it, took up high-profile theft instead.

[She's not going to tell him anything he couldn't get from a careful reading of her archived entries. She shrugs.]

[ ....... High-profile theft. Green eyes. Bruce knows exactly who she reminds him of and he resists the urge to- do something that he probably shouldn't do in front of her.

He tried to raise Tim to think in a way that's similar to him. Not to become him. At least Stephanie was entirely different. ]

Is it red? [ Entirely droll. ]

You're hilarious. Oddly enough, yeah; this? [She gestures at herself to indicate the general green-ness.] This happened to me. I'm human.

[ ... Okay, he should make more of an effort. By more he really means 'any'. Remind self: this is Tim's girlfriend. Make an effort for Tim even though she reminds you of Selina.

Though, the human part is a bit of a relief. It makes her easier to deal with - it's harder to get information about a whole other culture on this ship without asking her directly, after all. At least this way, he has the background of generic human culture and behavior to base off upon. ]

I'm asking because blood color tends to affect skin color. [ Entirely bland. ]

Elaboration as to why it's any of your business is appreciated. We're both consenting adults, and if anybody had any reason to believe I was taking advantage of him then it would've come up long before you showed.

[She sounds offended. Because she is.]

[ It's probably a good thing that none of the people connected to his sons that he'd met so far are any all intimidated by him. Of course, he doesn't have the Bat's reputation here to back him up, and he's not exactly trying- but it's still a good thing.

If they are so easily scared away, then there's no point even letting them close to his kids. ]

I'm his father. [ Very simply. ] And I have no idea who you are, or how you get to know him, or what your relationship like.

Uh huh. Well, let me just field the questions that are actually important here. Did I use my ~feminine wiles~ on him? No. Am I dating him because he's eighteen? No. Does he identify as anything even remotely like the dense little ball of uninformed, self-centred, immature jerk that makes up the typical eighteen-year-old? No. Beyond that, I'm not talking you through the minutiae of my private life. So either you trust Tim to make smart decisions, or you don't, in which case you need to be having this conversation with him. Either way I think we're done here.

We're not. [ Flatly, but he jumps down from the tree branch, standing beside her and looking her straight in the eye. ]

If I don't trust Tim, I won't tell him that I want to meet you. [ It's very, very casual, but there's an underlying threat to it. ]

But I don't trust you.

[She meets his gaze unflinchingly.]

Tim does. So either you need to quit posturing or admit that you don't trust his judgement - and why do I get the feeling that 'people you trust' make up a club with some really exclusive entry criteria?

Whether Tim does or not is irrelevant. I judge for myself.

[ He leans back against the tree. That also means not letting her similarities to Selina affect his decision either one way or another. Also not addressing the second part because ayep so true. ]

[Yeah, she's going to count his silence as assent on that subject. She rolls her eyes.]

Well, you have fun with that. Fortunately, since I'm not dating you or anybody whose relationships you have the right of veto over, I'm not going to jump through hoops for your approval. You don't trust me? Fine by me, we've only known each other for like ten minutes. And if you still don't trust me in a month, great! I'm still not going to care.

[ His lips twitch up very, very slightly, and he crosses his arms. Looks at her. ]

You pass.

[ Droll. ]

Whatever, Wayne. Later.

[She makes a dismissive hand gesture and walks past him, heading not to the door but deeper into the CES. She might as well get some fresh air while she's here.]

[ And that he expects as well. He watches her as she leaves for a moment before he swings back up the branch, and up, up, until he reaches the top of the tree, hidden by the leaves. Silence and solitude.

He needs to think about this. ]
