Could I possibly get a reality check over here?

So Cute-Perky-and-Russian has gotten her crazy face on. Big freaking deal. ~~Nobody's actually died, right?~~ I was wrong, apparently somebody did. I'd say my face was red, but, y'know.

Best case scenario, we all get a few bruises, tomorrow or next week or whenever she realizes what a total drama queen she's being and cools off. Normal service resumes. Worst case scenario, a few other people have to take a week off work for whatever reason. It sucks, then you get over it, then in a month there's some other disaster and nobody cares that this ever happened.

Other worst case scenario, the Barge crash-lands. Yeah, like we've never seen that before. Last time that happened it set back our schedule by, what, a week? Less? Like we're even in a hurry to get anywhere.

Also, you guys do know that the Admiral caps off powers that could accidentally wreck the Barge, right? Including Wardens? [She's mostly thinking about Bruce Banner here.] We're never gonna end up....I dunno, floating through interdimensional space, clinging to whatever scorched furniture we can keep hold of. We have way better insurance against Acts Of Blonde than Moscow.

Nothing unique or special is happening here. Just try to avoid sharp edges for the next few days and it'll blow over. Eesh.

Maybe I'd be in the mood to give one if our peers weren't so fixated on killing someone just because they think it'll fix things--like it'll help in the long run anyway. Like killing Sveta is going to make her suddenly appreciate this place and realize she made a mistake in waking up one day and thinking "screw this place" like most of us do from time to time...

You're stressed. I get it. Just take a step back. The Infirmary can deal for as long as it takes for you to go scream into a pillow or eat a tub of ice cream or whatever your preferred form of relief is.

My current preferred form of relief would really be to beat the crap out of the punching bags, but doing that would probably get me a broken bone or concussion, with things the way they are right now.

Can I just take the time to thank you for clarifying your official position on this?

You don't care. You think that people who are upset and angry about this are being stupid because it's not like things like this don't happen all the time here, and she just woke up one day thinking "screw this place", which makes it completely acceptable to kill and endanger huge swathes of people. So shame on all the people who think that her life isn't worth more than ours because she's a warden, or because she's hurt, or because you happen to be her friend.

It's really-- really amazing, because you know, if I'd tried to use any of those excuses back home? I would have been laughed out of court, but here? That's exactly the standard that the wardens see fit to hold each other too.

You know what? I don't need to explain myself to you, but here it is: I don't advocate death as a solution for anything. When Coyo took over the Barge and brought Aztec gods that caused more death and mayhem than this, I never thought she should be killed. I watched people I love get beheaded by her brothers, and I still don't think she deserved the death threats people sent her way after.

I never once said I don't care about what's happening. We aren't talking about what punishment Sveta might deserve for this, we're talking about dealing with the problem at hand, and finding a way to stop it. She didn't know her powers could do what they did, and MAYBE she can stop this and pull it back, but if her ability to do that depends on her attitude and how she's feeling about the Barge, do you really think that everyone calling for her head on a platter is going to make her want to?

Killing her is not the solution to this, and that has nothing to do with how much people hate it here or not.

You know what? Scroll back up, and try actually reading the post that you so wholeheartedly agreed with, because it is not about the sanctity of life, or how to deal with the problem at hand. It's about how we should shut up and get over it, because what's happening to us is no big deal and it happens all the time and we'll all have forgotten about being burned and wounded and murdered in a week .

When you give an emphatic "Thank you" to that? Then yes you are saying that you don't care what's happening to us, and you do need to explain yourself to me! And while we're on the topic of having words put in your mouth? I actually didn't push for what you're arguing against! I just think it's amazing that you can be so angry with all the people who are actually considering what's now looking to be the only solution to this, when you obviously don't give a shit about what she does to the rest of us!

Killing her might not be the perfect solution to this but I don't see you doing anything that might lead to an alternative, and why should you? After all, it's only one dead inmate, isn't it?

You don't see me doing anything, so I'm not, is that how it works? Do you even know my name? You have no idea what I am or am not doing, what I've been doing, or who I am or am not talking to, or where I am or have been, or how long I've been here or how many times I've died here or how. So what I think is amazing is how you think you know me, or what's important to me, or that I'm an 'us vs. them' kind of person.

Your name is Cissie, and up until now I've seen you being a perfectly nice, if somewhat unremarkable person. Right now, however? I see you dismissing the suffering and deaths of many people, I see you dismissing my suffering, and in the same breath objecting at great length to the idea of someone who you care about, and who is causing pain to many other people, having to suffer in kind!

I am not pretending to know you, Cissie, but what I am doing is pointing out that behavior which is evident to me. I don't know if you are going to go dote on the sick and helpless later, or if you've spent your life rescuing the wounded innocent, or if you're not even remotely an 'us vs. them' kind of person. What I know of you, Cissie, is that despite the fact that you have been so kind as to tell me all about your views on whether or not it is appropriate to kill your warden friend, your response to what's happened to me? What's happened to that-- that girl who was having a breakdown in response to the post? What's happened to the man who broke out with the plague? Even what's happened to the man who died because of this?
