103 - Voice

[24 hours after death-by-Kirk, Shego sounds....Death Toll-y. Her voice is scratchy and muted like she's recently had her throat cut, because....she has.]

I guess that's one way to get back on board early.

[She laughs hoarsely, but it's a 'if I don't laugh I'll cry or possibly throw up' laugh.]

Feels like I still have my heart. And my skin. I guess you guys lose.

[A pause, like she's making an effort to remember something important.]

Check in, guys.  [Screw you she's not doing a friends filter.]  Has anybody heard from Cissie during all this?

[OOC: Forward-dated to shortly before the end of port.  Open to Infirmary spam since she's not going anywhere for the next day or two at least :c]

He couldn't really argue with that, even if her crappy sense of aim meant that he had to relive how he'd died back home.

"Maybe I'll give you lessons when I don't feel like shit."

The silence expanded and for a moment she wondered about just trying to get some more sleep, then decided against it and reached out. At a stretch, her fingertips just caught against the edge of Kirk's bed.

"...we're both sorry. Right?"

Maybe it was pathetic but she cared more about them not feeling like they were fighting then she cared about what few principles she had in these situations.

just for as long as I don't feel like leaving my comfortable bed :c

Kirk didn't notice what she was doing until he felt her fingers touch the edge of his bed and he finally turned from his back to his side to face her, touching the back of her hand in the same movement.

"Yeah."

She smiled weakly. "Next time the Admiral announces a port let's just...lock ourselves in someplace so this doesn't happen again."

Kirk squeezed her hand for a moment. "You still have those plans to take over? I'll totally help."

She laughed weakly. "Not a single volcano, huh? And they say romance is dead."

"There might be sea monsters and killer jellyfish though. Sorry in advance."

Another chuckle and yeah, it was getting painful to laugh now. "You suck."

"It's the Barge. It can't go anywhere that's deemed nice by normal people."

"What have normal people got against Paris? The Admiral can do 'nice' just fine, he just doesn't want to."

"All the more reason to steal control from him for a while."

That logic probably wouldn't have felt so unassailable if she wasn't death tolling. "Fine. But I'm driving."

That sobered him up a little, as their ridiculous scheme had distracted him from the Death Toll just enough. "You should rest."

"...okay." She squeezed his fingers lightly, then drew her arm back in. "You should too."

"I will." Or he'd just stare at the ceiling or wall or something for several hours and never be really sure if he ever fell asleep or not. "That was month number two by the way."
