Barcaza: Open Spam

[Sheridan, quartermaster of The Slayer and frequent enough visitor to Barcaza to be recognized, strolled into the tavern at dusk. She'd had a hard day haggling over powder and ammunition for the girls' guns and the ship's cannons - the sort of 'haggling' where the supplier got to choose between a heavy discount and a lost finger or two - and having fulfilled her Captain's orders she felt qualified to relax a while. She sat down at the end of the bar and gestured for a drink.]

"The Slayer?" Look at him not answer that question right away. "Is that the ship they say is manned by an all female crew?"

"It is. And they're right." She swirled the rum around her glass. "You've been paying attention since you arrived, clearly."

"People talk a lot. I like to listen."

[gotgreenmagic]

"Hoping to hear about what you're looking for?"

[captain_jtkirk]

"You see anything strange in the waters?"

[gotgreenmagic]

She laughed. "Constantly. There's so much strangeness in these waters it's barely even strange any more."

[captain_jtkirk]

"I don't mean the sad men that roam around here." He gestured around the tavern absentmindedly.

She chuckled. "You think I do? Good God, you are naive. You sure the rum won't get the better of you?"

[captain_jtkirk]

"Pretty sure," Kirk downed it all in one go in response to that. "See any silver sea serpents around?"

[gotgreenmagic]

"Buy me another drink and I might tell you."

[captain_jtkirk]

"I'm going to have to get more than a might out of you to do anything."

[gotgreenmagic]

She laughed. "Then how about this. I'll buy the drinks, and if I can't keep up with you I'll tell you everything I know."

"Deal. Get drinking."

[gotgreenmagic]

Sherry grinned, waved for a full bottle, filled both their glasses to the brim and threw back her own instantly.

"We haven't even discussed your forfeit when you lose."
