[The video feed flickers to life when Shego smacks her communicator a couple times by mistake, groping along the side of her nightstand for a chirping alarm clock. She switches off the alarm, sits up and runs both hands through her hair - Shego's bed-hair is a terrifying thing to behold, it looks like there's twice as much of it as usual.

She swings her legs over the side of the bed and then, finally, notices the communicator. She leans in for a closer look, looking tired and bewildered.]

Doctor D, the heck is -

[There's a flicker of recognition in her face, and then her expression becomes completely unreadable.]

No.

Oh no no no.

No n
o no no no NO NO--

[The screen fills with green energy, cracks, then goes blank.]

[OOC: ohai I'm back from hiatus <3]

"There are a lot of people I talk to without there being any perceptible benefit to me, Jimmy," she said flatly. "See also the conversation we're having right now, and seriously, what do you care? We established a long time ago that it doesn't seem to make any difference what kind of person you are. Plenty of Wardens are basically hermits. What does it matter to you whether or not I have a social life?"

"Oh, like you know anything about being normal?" She stalked past him, heading for the door. "Face it, I am not the most dysfunctional person in this room."

Kirk at least had the control not to look horribly offended by that, even though he was thinking about socking her. Which probably just proved that he was more dysfunctional.

Time for a subject change then. "I take you're not really dead back home."

Truth hurts, Jimmy.

She waved a hand dismissively "I don't even know any more. Dead enough for the Admiral to drag me back here. Would you believe my job is occasionally life-threatening?"

"I never would've guessed," Kirk answered, sounding for all the world like he was sincere but the smirk on his face gave him away. "How's Kim?"

Shego considered giving him the finger but instead she just shrugged. "She hooked up up with the sidekick and got slightly more annoying. Otherwise, no change that I noticed. Oh, and we were BFFs for a couple weeks under circumstances beyond my control."

Now that made Kirk practically smirk at her. In the, you suffered my pain with me even though you weren't even on this Barge when it happened, kind of way.

"What happened?"

"Personality reversal ray. Which I would describe but - oh my gosh, I really don't think I need to," she said, affecting the Miss Go voice for a moment. "Oh, and Kimmy knew exactly what was going on but made absolutely no attempt to help me out, because obviously I was better that way."

Alright, well, that wasn't so funny anymore.

"Then she would make an awful Warden, now wouldn't she?"

"She really, really would." Shego sighed and opened what was left of the door, giving him a look that said he could follow her or just hang around her room and be creepy. "Oh, and the great irony of that entire deal? I got zapped by someone who knew me back from my superhero days and she wanted to turn me evil."

As much fun as creeping was, Kirk moved to follow her out of her room. He did feel bad about melting her door open. In the sense that he felt bad about something she forced him to do.

"Did she have an ulterior motive about it?"

No, she hadn't. That was the dumbest, most annoying thing. Kimmy hadn't considered that Shego had been robbed of her identity and that that wasn't fair; all she'd seen was that she was obeying the law and having fun. And that was just...enough. It was the totally one-dimensional thought process that was still ticking her off.

"I have no idea. Do you really think that I was in a mood to ask, when I got switched back to normal?"

"You could've asked in between trying to kill her," Kirk commented dryly.

Very flatly: "No, I couldn't. How likely d'you think it is that I cared whether she had an ulterior motive?"
