[Private to McCoy; voice]

Doc...? I lost...

Jimmy's gone. He started it, he just ran off, it's his own stupid fault and now I can't find him. He's gonna get eaten by wolves or something and it'll serve him right for being so dumb.

[And there's a noise that sounds suspiciously like sniffling.]

I need to find him.
So I can beat him up for being such a tiny little pain in the neck.

"Damnit- here, sit down a second." McCoy said, rustling through his pack for gauze to at least try and bind her ankle to keep it from too much sidewards movement. He glanced over briefly as she asked, lips pursing.

"Yeah, I'm just fantastic." He said dryly. At least he was getting better at sorting through his thoughts and Pavi's when the other man's memories spiked. "Sit, you're going to need your ankle and speed for when we find that damned brat."

"When we find him I'm just gonna knock him out so he can't run off again and I can do that from a distance," Shego said, letting her hands flare up for a moment - but then she relented and sat down on a nearby rock, sticking out the offending foot.

"I didn't mean to lose him," she said after an interminable pause. Losing Kirk was one thing, but disappointing McCoy felt like something else. "He wanted to play tag, I let him keep ahead so I could keep watch, but I tripped and he kept running and...yeah. I was stupid," she added, with unusual vitriol for a comment aimed at herself.

McCoy kneeled and began wrapping up her ankle carefully but snug. It was strange to see her so young- not bitter except in a general youthful sort of way. It was entirely too much like Joanna for him to feel comfortable for, hell, she was almost the same height by now.

"Hell, I've lost him when his hands were swelling up like balloons and he should have been passing out." McCoy answered dryly, lips pursing to the side before he continued. "I'm sorry you were saddled with him- he wasn't being very detailed on where you two were running around." He finished the bandaging and stood. "There, try to keep off it. When we get back to the Barge I'll fix it up for you."

"Thanks," Shego said, getting to her feet and testing her weight on it for a moment. "S'better. Doesn't hurt so much."

She glanced back and forth for a moment, getting her bearings, then pointed off roughly northwards. "He went off that way, but..." But he could be anywhere by now. "Do you have, like, a future thing for finding people?"

"If only." McCoy muttered, pulling out his communicator. Dead. He sighed and put it back, raising his brow to Shego. "Looks like we're going to be at this the old fashioned way." He said as he began to walk, slowly so Shego wouldn't strain her ankle anymore.

"What the hell happened? You drank something?" He asked.

"Some weird fruit," Shego admitted. "Jimmy ate it first, and when he didn't die I had some too. Then he started..." She made a vague gesture to indicate her currently less-than-ideal state. "So I stopped. S'why it didn't happen as much to me as it did to him," she added, redundantly.

"I didn't realize you got your powers so young." McCoy commented as they walked, surveying the area in search of Jim. "Jesus, how old is he now exactly?"

She shoved at a tree branch that was in her way, then scowled and blasted it into the undergrowth. "Looks...seven or eight or something? He's acting like he's five."

"He always acts like he's five." McCoy remarked, pushing a branch back. "At least it won't be too much of a shock."
