...seriously, how is it that nobody here dies of chronic Vitamin D deficiency? Vampires excepted, which is a phrase I never thought I'd use. Does the Admiral pump it through the ventilation shafts or something?

Okay, so. Here's the thing about magic on the Barge. A bunch of the wardens and the inmates are like me - what they do might look like magic, but most of them have been genetically engineered or bitten by radioactive ferrets or whatever. So, I'm guessing they're of no use to you.
Then there's Q, who is pretty much omnipotent, but he's also completely whacked. I'd recommend just staying out of his way, he's not worth it.
But since I like you, I did some reading. There's some geek librarian guy called Rupert Giles who talks way more about 'mystic energies' than can possibly be healthy for someone who doesn't actually use them occasionally. Then there's a kid called Tony who does spells, but he seems to be pretty lame at it. They're both wardens.
